Family Portraits really come from my Heart and all the years of experience in photography.

It is hard to believe it has been 43 years since I started my photography journey. (Thank you Mr. Potter, my Manager at the Sears Camera/Computer Department, for helping me get my first camera. As well as Joe and Ed, two of the longtime Associates and great friends who taught me the basics.) Now all these years later the memories of you all have lived on with me. That is what makes life so special. The people we meet and the parts of them we take along on our own journey we call Life.

Back then I found I had a true love of people. As in “Peopling”. Just listening to others’ stories, their own experiences. I could find the smiles, I could find the connections that helped them become comfortable in front of my camera. I found the perfect way to bring that out in portraits. (Later on I refined how to create technically beautiful images using gear and many lessons and, along the way, many failures. We all know that is how we learn; we stumble and get back up.

All these people in these images, I can state, I really found these connections. Even if it was only for a few minutes, an hour or so, we discovered these wonderful faces.

It has been a joy seeing many of these families grow over the years.
