There is no doubt that Portraits at the Beach are fun, Colorful, Emotional and so Impactful.
The trick as I like to say is to Chase the Weather, Chase that Sunset. Weather is so unpredictable, even when we look like we have a great Sunset in store, Mother Nature can throw in a wrinkle, like Clouds, WIND, Heat, Humidty, Cold, Rain and even a Storm, right out of the blue some times. So be prepared for anything. Of course here in Northwest Indiana, Chicagoland and Southwest Michigan we have some of the prettiest Beach around. These are hidden Jems as I like to say.
(We do have the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore Park that DOES REQUIRE a permit. A process that is nearly impossible if one wants to chase the weather since we must specify 2 dates, our Primary and our Backup date. With our clients and our own busy schedules this can be such a problem. This has forced my wife and I to be creative in using similar locations that do not require such an impossible permit process. But hey, that is just thinking outside the box and being creative.)
This summer has tested us like no other. But as you will see, each and every couple brings their own style. Each and every day brings different Weather. And NO TWO SUNSETS ARE ALIKE.
This first image of Brad & Becky was taken early in the year on April 30th. (It was 80 Degrees when just 10 days earlier on their Wedding day it was 42 Degrees.)
Getting a little creative when we have the time is always fun.
Yes, these colors are real. After Brent & Kristin's Beach wedding the Clouds opened up and Whoa look what we had.
Poor Brent, I hurried up and ran Kristin and him down to the Beach to get this image.
On their Wedding Day Dave & Kelly had little time. Well, we went out to the Beach in Mid June and found these wonderful clouds.
There are several images here of Jamie & Brandon. And why not, Super Models both.
And just to prove one does not need that Big Orange Ball for a Perfect Sunset. The Skies where Fantastic.
For someone who states he dislikes getting his image taken, Jeremy nailed their Engagement Portraits.
Having the clouds around really added drama to the Skies.
During Kristin & Jeremy's Session I couldn't help but snapping this image.
I'm going to let these images for Matt & Alicia do the Talking. LOL
See, not one Sunset the same. Meagan & Kris found a beautiful day.
Having been married back on March 22nd, it took us all summer to find the perfect day for Peter & Amanda.
Sarah & Craig were willing to even get wet. And that's OK with me.
We did these images for Tom & Dana within a one hour window. And Oh what a beautiful window.
