With many weddings couples have chosen to do what is called a "First Look". My wife and I have tried to help capture these moments in a way that is not intrusive, but rather a special view into a great moment.
I know many couples have a tough time choosing to do a First Look. For so many, they have seen time and time again over their Lifetime, in movies and on TV, a special moment of the Groom seeing his Bride for the first time as she walks down that isle. This is a tradion deep with history. Over the years we have caught many of these tradional reactions in images.
However, in today's world of late wedding times, to maximize picture time and celebration time, we can sometimes suggest doing an early First Look. This leaves much more time for portraits, family images and artistic images. Not to forget time to actually relax and take a breath on the wedding day. Plus, as you will see in these images, the fact that the couple has their own moment away from the pressures of the ceremony, remembering their vows, all the prying eyes and not being able to say more than a few words, these First Looks pack so much emotion along with special words for each other.
The tradition of the Groom not seeing the Bride before the ceremony goes back to arranged marriages. The Father of the Bride only "unveilied" the bride at the ceremony so that the groom would not back out. I do not believe that is an issue with weddings in our region any more.
The most emotional First Looks my wife and I have seen are mostly from these First Looks before the Ceremonies. Have a look at some of our recent favorites.
Whatever you as a couple decide together, enjoy every minute of your wedding day and celebration. (As all these couples sure did. :) )
